FAQ

General

Do you offer "X" model?

  • If you do not see your model listed on our site, feel free to message us and we will see what we can do.

Can you make me a matching truss cover?

  • Unfortunately, no. Truss covers are typically trademarked, and we are not willing to infringe on anyone else's intellectual property rights.

Why are some materials double (or more) the price of others?

  • This is due to the cost of the material itself. Some materials cost significantly more to source than others. For example, real celluloid tortoise is much more expensive because of the material and production process.

Do you offer custom pickguard designs or shapes (for example, modifying a pickguard's overall shape or a custom one off design)?

  • No, we do not currently offer custom designs or shapes. We recommend contacting WD Music Products for custom work of that nature.

Can you ship my international order as a gift / no value?

  • Unfortunately, no. We would love to help you save on costs, but this would constitute fraud, may incur fines, and could threaten our ability to ship internationally.

Pickguard Fitment

I received my pickguard, but the shape or mounting holes are not right.

  • Please make sure your instrument matches exactly to the model listed for the pickguard. When it comes to pickguards, the general model name alone is not enough to determine fit. For example, a Stratocaster pickguard is not just a Stratocaster pickguard.

My guard is not fitting around my control plate or switch plate.

  • You will need to loosen the control plate or switch plate during installation. Once you achieve the desired fit, retighten the screws. In some cases, you may need to file the pickguard slightly to achieve the desired fit, as many manufacturers do not place control and switch plates perfectly.

I received my pickguard, but most of the mounting holes are slightly off and do not match my instrument.

  • Overlay your factory pickguard and the new pickguard to check whether the holes match between the two. In most cases, you will find that the pickguards match and the holes in the instrument body are off. Many manufacturers do not use a center punch when placing pickguard mounting holes.
  • If the holes in our pickguard and your factory pickguard do not line up with each other, and your instrument's year, make, and exact model match our listing, you may have a prototype or first run instrument. This is typically not marked in any obvious way, but if your serial number is on the earlier end of the year range, that is often the case. Please contact us if this happens.
